Critical Religious Freedom Legislation Pending in Congress
One of the most important bills for family, freedom and life is currently awaiting a vote in Congress. The Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act, likely the only religious freedom bill Congress will consider all year, seeks to protect faith-based adoption agencies from adverse action by the government.
State and local laws in various parts of the country have forced faith-based adoption agencies to either abandon their convictions about placing kids with married mothers and fathers or to shut down altogether. Already, such non-profit groups in Massachusetts, Illinois, D.C., and parts of California have been forced to close their doors – leaving less adoption agencies working to find loving homes for children.
