“We don’t get to choose the time that we live in, but we do get to choose what we do with the time that has been given to us.”
At the 2026 Life & Liberty Gala, more than 1,600 Christians gathered to celebrate what God is doing through Nebraska Family Alliance (NFA) and consider the kind of state and nation we will leave for our children.
The choice is here. And our $250,000 match challenge ends tonight.
Every gift before midnight will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling your impact as we prepare for the critical work ahead.
The upcoming midterm election will be a major turning point for Nebraska. Your support fuels NFA’s statewide efforts to educate voters through our online and physical voter guides, empowering Nebraska voters with information on where the candidates stand on the issues that matter most.
Pivotal battles are on the horizon over life, parental rights, gambling, the safety of women and girls, and the future of our families. And NFA will be there on the front lines.
The outcome is in God’s hands, but we are guaranteed to lose every battle that we don’t show up for. And He can work through each of us.
Your gift today puts trusted election resources directly in the hands of thousands of Nebraska voters before they step into the voting booth on Election Day. Together, we choose to stand boldly for faith, family, life, and liberty.
In Case You Missed It
A homeschool graduate who has served his community as a volunteer firefighter should not be disqualified from a full-time position simply because he was homeschooled.
Yet that’s what happened to 22-year-old Andrew Coates of Fremont.
Andrew served as a volunteer firefighter for two years, is a state-licensed EMT, and is taking college courses with a 3.8 GPA. Despite his qualifications and experience, the City of Fremont disqualified him from consideration for a full-time municipal firefighter position because he was homeschooled.
“Homeschooling is more than just a lawful education option that continues to grow in Nebraska; it is a fundamental right of parents,” said Nate Grasz of Nebraska Family Alliance. “Families should never be punished by the government for choosing it. NFA is pursuing and supporting corrective action to ensure homeschool graduates receive equal opportunity and that the rights of parents and families are protected.”
Last night, the Fremont City Council voted to remove the hiring requirement that bars homeschool graduates from competing for city employment opportunities.
This decision is an important first step toward correcting an unjust policy that discriminates against homeschool graduates. NFA will continue defending educational freedom and the rights of families to pursue an education that aligns with their needs and values.
