LB 574, a bill to protect children from gender transition drugs and surgeries, is up for debate by our full legislature and will be voted on this week.

Children who are struggling to embrace their biological sex need love, support, and time—not harmful drugs and surgeries with lifelong, irreversible consequences.

LB 574, the “Let Them Grow Act,” will prohibit puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender reassignment surgeries for individuals younger than 19.

This is a huge opportunity to ensure children receive help and not harm, but senators are facing enormous pressure and need to hear from you!

Contact your state senator and urge them to support LB 574.

Senators will begin debate on Tuesday and a vote is expected on Thursday.

TALKING POINTS

    • Giving kids puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and even transgender surgery violates the first duty of medicine: do no harm.
    • LB 574 helps children who are struggling to embrace their biological sex by protecting them from harmful drugs and surgeries.
    • Minors aren’t eligible to make other life-altering decisions, including ones far less significant than puberty blockers and surgeries that remove healthy body parts. If a minor is not old enough to get a tattoo or buy cough syrup over the counter, why would we permit dangerous hormones and drastic surgeries for them?
    • Children who are struggling to embrace their biological sex need love, support, and time—not harmful drugs and surgeries with lifelong, irreversible consequences.
    • LB 574 ensures children receive help not harm, treatment not transition, and protection not politics.
    • I urge you to support LB 574. Thank you for your time and consideration.
