Women and girls in Nebraska deserve to feel safe while competing in sports and using private spaces.

Across the country, girls have lost scholarships, missed championship titles, and suffered serious injuries because they were forced to compete against biological men. This is unfair and dangerous, and it’s time for Nebraska to take a stand.

LB 89, the “Stand With Women Act” ensures fair competition in sports, provides important privacy protections, and establishes consistent definitions. These protections would extend to public colleges, universities, and state agencies, including prisons and correctional facilities.

No girl should have to compete against biological men, and no female student should be forced to share private spaces such as bathrooms, locker rooms, or showers with men. 

LB 89  is a common-sense proposal that preserves fairness and opportunities for female athletes and ensures girls across the state are safe pursuing their dreams.

It’s time to protect women and girls in Nebraska, and we need your help. LB 89 is scheduled for a hearing in the Government Committee this Friday. Please submit an online comment in support of LB 89 before 8:00 AM (CST) on Friday, February 7th, to be included in the official hearing record.
