Pro-Life & Pro-Abortion Bills Show Stark Contrast in Nebraska Legislature

The Nebraska Legislature has officially passed the half-way point in the 2019 legislative session. Committee hearings are almost concluded and the legislature will soon move to full-day debate.

This past week was an important one for the issue of life and the pro-life movement. On Wednesday, the Judiciary Committee held committee hearings for two bills dealing with abortion; one that offers hope for women and life for babies, and another that seeks to expand abortion across the entire state.

The first bill, LB209, introduced by state senator Joni Albrecht, is about informing women seeking a medication abortion about the possibility of reversing the effects of the abortion pill even after beginning a medication abortion.

LB503, introduced by Omaha state senator Megan Hunt, would authorize telemedicine and webcam abortions by striking the current requirement that the physician be physically present in the same room when an abortion is performed.

Rebekah Hagan, who utilized the abortion pill reversal protocol and saved her pregnancy and now has a healthy, beautiful 6 year old son because of it, shared her incredibly powerful testimony with the committee.

Hear Rebekah’s remarkable story and learn more about LB209 and LB503 on this week’s Capitol Connection Podcast.
