Why Freedom in Education Matters: Interview with Senator Lou Ann Linehan

From the State Department to the state legislature, Nebraska state senator Lou Ann Linehan has extensive experience serving in government. During this year’s legislative session she is fighting for the issue she is most passionate about: educational choice.

Why is freedom in education so important? Don’t we already have school choice? How can we help ensure every parent has equal access to the education best-suited for their child? Hear the answers to these questions and more in this week’s Capitol Connection Podcast.

Senator Linehan is currently serving in her second year in the Nebraska Legislature, representing District 39 (Elkhorn). Prior to her election to the Nebraska legislature, she served as deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of State and was chief of staff to U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel.

Sen. Linehan recently announced she will be designating LB295, the Opportunity Scholarships Act, as her one priority bill for the 2018 session. Click here to learn more about LB295 and creating educational choice in Nebraska.
