Capitol Connection Episode 128

Religious Freedom, Free Speech, and Women’s Equality on the Line at the Supreme Court

Recently, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in a major case centered on whether the term sex includes sexual orientation and gender identity under existing Federal law, which would have major ramifications for employers, freedom of conscience, freedom of speech, and equal athletic and educational opportunities for women.

NFA’s Executive Director, Karen Bowling, joins this week’s Capitol Connection Podcast to share what it was like outside of the Supreme Court and the significance of this case, including:

• fairness and equal opportunity in sports and athletics
• bodily privacy rights of women in locker rooms, restrooms, shower areas, and women’s shelters
• and the freedom of business owners, teachers, religious institutions and others to speak consistently with their faith and not be punished for their beliefs.
