Life & Liberty Gala Recap: This Is Just The Beginning

Last weekend, Nebraska Family Alliance (NFA) welcomed more than 1,000 Nebraskans to our 2025 Life & Liberty Gala in Omaha for an unforgettable evening of inspiration, vision, and action. Together, we celebrated recent policy victories and united around a shared mission to strengthen families, defend life, and uphold freedom across our state.

Bethany Hamilton’s moving testimony of faith and perseverance challenged us to live with courage and conviction:

“A lot of companies have said, ‘Never mind, we don’t want to work with you.’ Which is fine, because I would rather stand for truth than bow to the culture that is currently trending.”

Attendees heard a powerful panel discussion between Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers and Nikki Shasserre of Protect Women and Children Nebraska, and NFA Executive Director Nate Grasz. They outlined strategies to protect children, promote and defend our values, and impact government and culture with Biblical truth.

The message was clear: now is not the time for retreat. The Church must lead with boldness, truth, and compassion to restore our state into a land where God is honored, families thrive, and every life is cherished.

At the gala, we shared an ambitious plan to shape public policy, equip families, churches, and leaders, and spread Gospel truth to every corner of Nebraska. What began in a ballroom must now move into churches, neighborhoods, and homes. This is just the beginning of a movement to transform Nebraska for generations to come.
