This is a historic day in Nebraska and a defining moment in our work to defend God’s design for marriage and family.
Today, Governor Jim Pillen signed a proclamation recognizing the importance of the nuclear family and designated June as Marriage and Family Month in Nebraska, the first of its kind in our state’s history!
At a time when many states celebrate “pride,” Nebraska is celebrating God’s design for the family.
Nebraska Family Alliance was honored to be present for the signing of this historic proclamation, because this isn’t just symbolism. This proclamation sends a powerful message: Nebraska isn’t following the culture—we’re leading with truth.
The best remedy for confusion is clarity. And today, Nebraska chose to say clearly that marriage is between one man and one woman, fathers matter, mothers matter, and children deserve both whenever possible.
God’s design for marriage and family is the foundation of civilization and leads to human flourishing. That’s why we’re committed to defending the truth about marriage and family in law, policy, and culture, and our work just received national recognition.
Them Before Us, a national children’s advocacy organization, released a first-of-its-kind “Children’s Rights Scorecard” evaluating how well states protect the rights and well-being of children in key areas like marriage, parentage, and surrogacy. Nebraska received the highest score in the nation and was the only state to earn an “A” grade.
This achievement reflects years of hard work by countless Nebraskans who have stood for policies that put children first. Your prayers and support are making a difference!
Following the release of the scorecard, NFA Executive Director Nate Grasz had the opportunity to share about our work, how to push back against harmful policies, and the importance of defending the most vulnerable in our society.
The cultural, political, and spiritual battles surrounding marriage, family, and the protection of children are not slowing down. And neither can we.
Thank you for standing with us as we work to build a Nebraska where God is honored, marriages and families thrive, life is cherished, parental rights are protected, and freedom flourishes for generations to come.
“We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done.” Psalm 78:4
