Nebraska Family Alliance applauds Gov. Pat McCrory for standing against President Obama’s bathroom agenda.
Obama and the Department of Justice (DOJ) are trying to radically redefine federal law so that men can have access to women’s restrooms, locker rooms and other public accommodations. The governor is in good standing to file a lawsuit against the federal government under these circumstances.
Today, Gov. McCrory announced the state is seeking clarification of federal law in the courts, specifically as it applies to funding under Title VII.
“The Obama administration is bypassing Congress by attempting to rewrite the law and set restroom policies for public and private employers across the country, not just North Carolina. This is now a national issue that applies to every state, and it needs to be resolved at the federal level.” – Governor McCrory.
Governor McCrory pointed out that, “They are now telling every government agency and every company that employs more than 15 people that men should be allowed to use a women’s locker room, restroom or shower facility. It’s time for the United States Congress to bring clarity to anti-discrimination provisions.”
Unfortunately, North Carolina is not the only state facing this battle. The Nebraska State Activities Association (NSAA) has adopted the Gender Participation Policy which allows students, under certain circumstances, to participate in athletics and activities of the opposite sex. The NSAA State Board of Directors left if up to the schools to determine which bathrooms and locker rooms those students would be required to use.
Nebraska Family Alliance adamantly opposes the overreach of the Obama Administration and stands with Gov. McCrory in protecting the privacy and safety of women and children.
