The NFA Daily Spotlight: Protect The Privacy & Safety Of Women In Nebraska

This week on the Daily Spotlight, NFA Executive Director Nate Grasz gives an update on LB89. Biology matters, and women and girls deserve to feel safe in private spaces. “The Stand With Women Act” has four important components:

1. Fair Competition in Sports
Schools and athletic associations must categorize teams as male, female, or co-ed, ensuring that female sports are reserved exclusively for female athletes.

2. Privacy Protections
Access to restrooms, locker rooms, and showers in schools and state facilities must be based on biological sex, except in specific emergency or maintenance situations.

3. Consistent Definitions
Establishes definitions for “male” and “female” based on biological sex to provide consistency across state laws, regulations, and programs.

4. Expanded Protections
The measure extends to public colleges, universities, and state agencies, including prisons and correctional facilities.
