Tools To Help Your Church Navigate Elections From A Biblical Perspective

As Christians, we are called to love our neighbor and be salt and light in our communities. One of the ways we can do that is by engaging in every election. 

Part of loving our neighbor well must include caring about government and public policy because the candidates we choose to elect and the policies they advance directly impact the lives of real people within your neighborhood and faith community.

We can honor God this election by looking higher than mere politics, remembering that God ordained the institution of government for our good, and stewarding our Biblical responsibilities. 

To help you equip your church to engage Biblically with the upcoming election on November 8th, Nebraska Family Alliance is providing a free, easy-to-use voter guide and faith-based election resources. 

Our issues-based voter guide is available at NebraskaVoterGuide.com, where you’ll find side-by-side comparisons of where state and federal candidates stand on important cultural issues. Users can see a list of each candidate’s positions or search by their address to see the specific candidates who will appear on their ballot. 

The voter guide is nonpartisan and does not endorse candidates, so it’s 501(c)(3) church-friendly! To share this resource with your church, we’ve created a ready-to-use informational slide that can be displayed during church announcements, half-page bulletin inserts, and a one-minute promotional video. 

Our choices will always be between imperfect candidates, but in order for our neighbors to flourish, we must evaluate our choices carefully, pray for wisdom and discernment, and seek to elect leaders whose policy positions are most consistent with Biblical teaching.

On our Election Resource Center, Nebraska Family Alliance is also offering daily election prayer guides and faith-based resources for pastors and churches on government and political engagement.
