Today we remember Charlie Kirk, a courageous Christian leader and American patriot who dedicated his life to pursuing truth and defending the principles that built our nation.
Last year, we launched our Salt and Light Media Studio in honor of Charlie Kirk. His life’s work and legacy live on in our own on-the-ground efforts to advance faith, family, and freedom.
We grieve the horrific act of violence that took Charlie from his young family. We pray for healing and a country united in Christ, grounded in Biblical values.
Charlie understood that there is a battle for the hearts and minds of the next generation, and for the future of our country. His legacy challenges us all to take up the torch, press forward with boldness, and stand for truth in the public square.
That is exactly what we are doing here in Nebraska.
Today, we joined Nebraska coaches, State Auditor Mike Foley, and State Treasurer Joey Spellerberg at the State Capitol to announce a new coalition, Save Nebraska Sports, to protect Nebraska families, children, and student-athletes.
This election, we are facing two ballot measures to expand online gambling and turn every phone into a 24/7 casino. Sports betting causes tremendous financial harm to Nebraska taxpayers, families, and businesses and erodes the integrity of college athletics.
That’s why we are standing up to defeat this well-funded initiative backed by out-of-state gambling interests. Shoulder to shoulder, we’ll expose the harms of online sports betting and educate voters about what is at stake this November.
The battle for our children’s future is too important to sit on the sidelines. The mission continues.
