The Nebraska Legislature adjourned for the year on Friday. NFA worked on dozens of bills this session, providing testimony at committee hearings, meeting with senators, mobilizing prayer, and alerting our network at key moments.
We are thankful to report that this year, every bill opposed by NFA was successfully defeated, and 4 NFA-supported bills passed into law!
These victories included preserving parental rights, protecting kids from electronic gambling devices, and a groundbreaking new law to combat the online trafficking and exploitation of children.
While we are thankful for these important wins, many pro-life and family bills failed to advance, including bills to protect women and unborn children from chemical abortion and keep men out of girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms, and much more needs to be done.
While the legislature has adjourned, our work continues. NFA recently signed a letter with more than 75 pro-life organizations urging the Department of Justice to stop enabling abortion drugs by mail. This is a growing concern, and we’re leading the way by calling on the DOJ to stand with states, not the abortion industry.
This is about more than winning policy battles. This is about winning hearts and minds and transforming our culture with Biblical truth.
That’s why we are in our nation’s capital this week for “America Reads the Bible,” to call our nation back to its spiritual foundations through a public, continuous reading of the entire Bible.
Tonight through April 25th, NFA will join hundreds of leaders in proclaiming God’s word over our nation, because God’s word still speaks, and we believe God can spark revival and reignite our nation’s spiritual foundations.
