Nebraska Family Alliance is committed to supporting life in all its forms, and strongly believes that the dignity and value of every child should be recognized.
The Fetal Dignity Protection Act, would help to ensure that no person within our state can profit from the sale of human fetal tissue obtained from a dead baby after an abortion or stillbirth, and that the dignity of every life is recognized by ensuring the proper disposal of unborn children is one that reflects the and value and respect every life deserves.
While federal law prohibits the profit from the sale of human organs, this same protection should be provided at the state level to further safeguard and guarantee that this unethical and grotesque practice is clearly illegal and closely monitored at the state level in Nebraska.
Like the thousands of citizens across our state and millions nationwide, we were appalled, disheartened, and horrified by a recent series of undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress that exposed Planned Parenthood’s dealings in the apparent sale of baby parts.
The videos showed senior Planned Parenthood officials describing how they collect “specimens” by changing abortion methods, “crushing” unborn babies and using “less crunchy” methods in order to obtain baby parts to sell, negotiating prices for baby body parts, and consciously demonstrating a complete disdain for life and human dignity.

While abortion advocates and Planned Parenthood representatives have attempted to discredit the videos by calling them deceptively edited, the videos are available in their complete entirety online. The videos have also been authenticated by a highly accredited forensic analysis and cybersecurity company, Coalfire Systems, who determined that the videos are genuine with no evidence of manipulation.
Rightfully, these videos garnered national attention. There is value in every human life and babies should be worth more alive than dead.
When fetal tissue is sold for profit, human life is cheapened. Nebraska should adopt a proactive approach to end the sale of baby body parts so that life is valued and every individual is treated with dignity.
