Predatory Casino Gambling Initiatives Continue Moving Forward
Two separate initiatives to push casinos into our Nebraska communities are underway.
Casino proponents circulating a ballot petition to legalize casino gambling in Nebraska will begin collecting signatures in 2019, and the Ponca Tribe announced their casino in Carter Lake will open by the end of October, despite ongoing legal challenges.
The casino is set to be named in honor of the legendary Ponca Chief Standing Bear, who famously won personhood for Native Americans in the United States.
