As many of you know, Governor Jim Pillen recently signed Nebraska’s first-ever school choice bill into law. The passage of the Opportunity Scholarships Act (LB753) made Nebraska the 49th state to enact a school choice program.
Now thousands of Nebraska children will have hope for a better education that works for them.
Unfortunately, within days of LB 753 becoming law, our state teachers union announced a referendum effort to repeal the Opportunity Scholarship Act, and the national teachers union has already donated nearly one million dollars to their effort.
We must fight back and protect opportunity and hope for families and children in Nebraska. That is why the Keep Kid First campaign was launched.
Would you please consider doing these few things?
- Decline to sign the so-called “Support Our Schools” petition being circulated across the state and urge others to do the same.
- Share this information with your friends, family, and church community and follow Keep Kids First on Facebook and Twitter to share the truth about LB 753 and school choice.
- Sign up to volunteer for the Keep Kid First campaign to protect the Opportunity Scholarships Act, and stop by our NFA office at 1106 E Street in Lincoln on Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM to pick up a yard sign or informational pamphlets.
Thank you for working with us to protect school choice, defend parental rights, and to ensure we keep kids first.
