In November, Governor Ricketts revealed the the new Choose Life License Plate. Senator Dan Watermeier, the introducer of the Choose Life License Plate bill, joins the Capitol Connection to discuss the how this bill overcame fierce opposition.

Choose Life License Plates drew a lot of attention during the 2017 legislative session. A small group of senators filibustered this small pro-life bill at every level, including the appropriation bill that had to be included. In the final vote, just 5 senators voted against the bill.

This new specialty license plate provides another opportunity for the citizens of Nebraska to celebrate the culture of life. This design reflects a growing support for the protection of Nebraska’s greatest resource, our children.
