LB 626, the Nebraska Heartbeat Act, will be up for a second round of debate by the full legislature this Thursday!
Senators advanced the bill through the first round of debate on April 12th with 33 votes, the exact number needed to end a filibuster and allow a bill to move forward.
We need 33 votes in favor of the bill again on Thursday. With such slim margins, your prayers and advocacy make all the difference.
Please contact your state senator and urge them to support LB 626 as written, and sign-up to be at the capitol during debate to show support for the bill.
If the bill advances on Thursday, it will be placed on “Final Reading,” which is the last round of debate a bill must go through before being sent to the Governor’s desk.
