Nebraska is currently facing a well-funded ballot initiative to create a right to abortion in our state constitution. How should Christians respond?
Recently, NFA Policy Director Nate Grasz was invited to preach at a church in Lincoln about this very topic.
It’s a message directly from the pulpit you don’t want to miss and must be spread across our state.
This issue will be on the ballot of every voter in the 2024 General Election. Similar initiatives have passed in other states, and churches can be the deciding factor in Nebraska because this is not a “political” issue; this is a Biblical issue.
In this sermon, you will hear:
-
- A Biblical view of abortion, politics, and voting
- Why churches shouldn’t be afraid to speak about “political issues”
- What the abortion initiative says and actually means
- How to support a pro-life petition called “Protect Women & Children” to defend life in our state
- And why people of faith must step out and lead on this issue.
“We have been given the truth. We have been given a voice. And now we need the courage to go speak it—because this is the greatest issue of our time, and on the issues that matter most, it’s the people of God who should be leading the way.”
The “Protect Women & Children” campaign is currently gathering signatures to put the pro-life initiative on the ballot. They need 125,000 valid signatures before July 3rd, and you and your church can help collect signatures and make a big difference in our effort to protect life in Nebraska.
Please watch and share this video to help educate and empower people across our state to stand for life at this critical moment, forward it to your friends, family, and church community, and consider showing it at your Bible study or small group.
NFA has put together resources specifically for churches to engage on this issue.
Download our church resource packet to access a special guide to what churches can and can’t do during elections, a fact sheet comparing the different abortion initiatives, advancing a culture of life prayer guide, bulletin inserts, and more. With your help, Nebraska can be the first state to defeat the abortion industry, protect women and babies, and advance a culture of life.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Mathew 5:14-16
