January 2022

As we begin 2022, the NFA team has set out with the goal of generating new ways to mobilize prayer for our country and elected leaders, advance good public policy, and empower the Body of Christ to be engaged citizens.

To help accomplish this goal, we are proud to launch a new initiative: the Nebraska Prayer & Policy Report.

Each month, the Nebraska Prayer & Policy Report will provide you with specific prayer points relevant to current events, an easy-to-read policy update on the most important issues happening in government, and free educational resources for you and your family or ministry.

PRAYER UPDATE

Nebraska State Senators have reconvened for the 2022 legislative session, and we believe the greatest gift we can give our elected leaders is our prayers.

Would you commit to pray for your state senator during this important time?

Sign-up for NFA’s “Adopt a Leader in Prayer” program, and NFA will send you a free prayer resource packet with prayer guides and a photo of your state senator to help remind you to pray daily for your elected leaders.

January Prayer Points

      • Pray for state senators to have wisdom and discernment as they introduce bills and begin debating legislation. Find your state senator here.
      • Pray for legislation that upholds truth and protects life to advance.
      • January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Pray for awareness to increase, for victims to be rescued, for traffickers’ hearts to be changed, and for justice to prevail.

POLICY UPDATE: Help Protect Religious Freedom

What happens at the State Capitol, doesn’t stay at the State Capitol.

The laws passed by our representatives directly impact the lives of real people – including the right to practice your faith without government interference.

Next week, an important bill to protect the religious freedom rights of all Nebraskans will be heard in committee, and your voice is needed to help support the bill.

LB774 protects all religions, mainline and minority, by establishing a clear standard to ensure that religious liberty rights are not infringed by government and that the government cannot treat churches worse than secular businesses.

Would you take two minutes to submit an online comment in support of the bill? Comments must be submitted by Noon on Tuesday, January 18th, and each submission counts!

Visit NFA’s Bill Tracker webpage to learn more about all of the most important bills we are monitoring this session and how they could impact family, freedom, and life in Nebraska.

EMPOWERING PEOPLE

At NFA, we believe being engaged starts with being informed.

One of the easiest ways to stay up-to-date on the most important news and prayer opportunities is through NFA’s Capitol Link text network.

By joining NFA’s texting network, you’ll receive the most urgent prayer requests straight to your phone. You can be informed as events are unfolding live and praying with us at strategic moments when we need it most!

Text “PRAYNFA” to 72572 to join!
