The tides have turned, and life and liberty is winning in Nebraska! Nebraska Family Alliance (NFA) has been honored to lead the charge to advance life and defend liberty in our state, and with God’s grace and your prayerful and financial support, we’ve celebrated several major generational wins this spring!
For Life
After 13 years of state-sanctioned abortions late into the second trimester, state senators finally passed legislation that protects preborn babies at 12 weeks gestation. NFA was at the State Capitol for every round of debate, meeting with senators and advocating for life, and last Monday, we attended the special signing ceremony for LB 574.
This is just the start. We celebrate this landmark victory and remain committed to enacting even greater pro-life protections in our state, so that every precious life from the moment of conception will be cherished and protected.
For Liberty
Parents should have more control over their child’s education than the government, and after decades of attempts to pass Nebraska’s first school choice bill, Nebraska finally became the last state in the country to enact school choice with the passage of LB 753, the Opportunity Scholarships Act. Governor Pillen is scheduled to sign the bill into law today!
Not Deterred By Cancel Culture
Earlier this month, we shared with you that we had been barred from participating in an annual fundraising event called “Give To Lincoln Day” organized by the Lincoln Community Foundation because of a politically motivated gender and sexual orientation “non-discrimination affirmation” statement that non-profits were forced to agree to.
“You planned harm, but God devised it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:20
The plan did not succeed. Not only did NFA exceed previous fundraising records on “Give To Lincoln Day,” over 500 new supporters joined our network after we took a leap of faith and publicly shared our unwavering commitment to not compromise on the very values we work to advance.
