Walk For Life is an annual pro life event hosted by Nebraska Right to Life. Each year thousands of pro life people gather on the North side of the State Capitol and then march approximately 8 blocks through the heart of downtown Lincoln to the UNL Student Union at 14th and R St.

Once on campus participants get to hear a powerful pro life testimony from a guest speaker; there are vendors, refreshments and a unique opportunity for Christian unity.

Rebekah Buell – A Woman With a Powerful Story

2017 Walk for Life keynote speaker, Rebekah Buell, and her two sons.

The 2017 keynote speaker is a remarkable young woman with a powerful story. Rebekah Buell’s journey began in 2011, when she became pregnant with her first son at just 17.

Despite the many challenges she faced, Rebekah chose life for her first-born. Her future was looking up, but before long, Rebekah`s troubled relationship came to an end, and it was at that same time that she discovered she was pregnant with her second child.

Feeling panicked, ashamed, and afraid of losing her parent`s support and college dreams, Rebekah decided that raising two children at 19 years old would be impossible. With no hope in sight, she visited Planned Parenthood at 8 weeks pregnant and began a chemical abortion.

Immediately after taking the first ru486 abortion pill, Rebekah knew she had made the biggest mistake of her life and embarked on a mission to save her son. You don’t want to miss hearing Rebekah share her powerful story in person.

5,000 Pro Life People

In 2015, 5000+ people participated in the Walk for Life.

Walk for Life is the largest event of its kind in the state of Nebraska every single year. Thousands gather to celebrate Life; to show the city and our state not just what we’re against, but what we’re for.

Participating in the Pro Life Movement

Each year at the Walk for Life, pink and blue balloons are released as a symbol of the lives of babies lost to abortion.

The Walk for Life began in 1974, just one year after Roe v. Wade was handed down by the Supreme Court. This is it’s 43rd year!

There is something special about gathering with people of all different ages, from many different walks of life, to WALK FOR LIFE. Every innocent life should be cherished and protected, because as Dr. Seus put it, “A person’s a person, no matter how small.”
