One of the most important bills for family, freedom, and life is currently awaiting a vote in Congress – and every single member of Nebraska’s Congressional Delegation has stepped up to support it.

The Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act seeks to protect faith-based foster care and adoption agencies from adverse action by the government.

State and local laws in various parts of the country have forced these faith-based agencies to either abandon their convictions about placing kids in traditional families or shut down altogether.

Already, faith-based agencies in Massachusetts, Illinois, D.C., and parts of California have been forced to close their doors – leaving fewer adoption agencies working to find loving forever homes for children.

In response, Congress has been considering The Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act to ensure the federal government and state governments cannot discriminate against faith-based adoption and foster care providers.

Nebraska’s U.S. Senators and Congressmen have all signed on as co-sponsors to this legislation.

This is especially important for Nebraska as our state legislature failed to pass similar legislation in 2016. During the committee hearing and floor debate of the proposed 2016 bill, it became clear significant hostility exists towards these faith-based agencies in Nebraska. If not protected by this federal legislation, agencies in Nebraska may face grave consequences.

Despite misleading and negative attacks from the Left, the only aim of this legislation is to ensure child-placing agencies are able to continue following their faith when finding loving homes for children – the same faith that compels them to serve needy children.

At NFA, we believe every American has the right to live and work according to their deeply held beliefs, and this includes faith-based foster care and adoption agencies.

Please join NFA in thanking members of Nebraska’s Congressional Delegation for co-sponsoring the Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act and supporting family, freedom, and life.
