For more than three decades, Nebraska Family Alliance (NFA) has championed Biblical values at the intersection of faith, government, and family. In 2024, we celebrated 36 years of pro-life and pro-family advocacy, culminating in a landmark victory for life on November 6th—a remarkable testament to God’s faithfulness.
When I answered the call to join the NFA team 24 years ago, I set out to use my business background to develop a long-term ministry plan to advance Biblical principles, expand NFA’s outreach, and raise up the next generation of Christian leaders. I’ve had the honor of witnessing God-sized miracles emerge from seemingly insurmountable obstacles and working alongside our ministry partners and friends to achieve generational wins for Nebraska.
Leadership is about honoring God, serving others, and knowing when to embrace a new season. At the start of this year, I sensed the Lord’s guidance that it was time to pass the torch to the next generation of leadership and notified NFA’s Board of Directors. A succession plan began to identify who God was calling to lead the next chapter of NFA, and at our 2024 Life and Liberty Gala, the Board announced that Nate Grasz would become NFA’s next Executive Director effective January 1, 2025.
For nine years, I have had the privilege of working alongside Nate. He has served as Policy Director since 2016, and his talents are unparalleled. Nate is a man of character, competence, and courage and exemplifies servant leadership. I am confident that under Nate’s leadership and with a combined 32 years of experience across our team, NFA will continue to see exponential growth and, with God’s favor, have a Kingdom impact on Nebraska. The future is bright!
As I close this chapter of ministry, NFA’s prayer partners, ministry friends, and generous donors have enriched my life. To NFA’s Board and Staff—I will forever cherish your wisdom and friendship. Thank you for entrusting me to serve and lead with you.
With Gratitude and Hope,
Karen Bowling, Executive Director
Nebraska Family Alliance
A Message from NFA’s Board of Directors
“On behalf of the entire NFA Board, I want to express my deep and sincere appreciation to Karen Bowling for her years of faithful service and tireless efforts leading Nebraska Family Alliance. Karen is the definition of a ‘happy warrior.’ She has taken our organization to new heights and leaves a remarkable legacy of influencing policy, mobilizing prayer, and empowering people. Karen’s leadership has made an impact that will be felt for generations to come, and we are thrilled she has helped raise up her successor as she ‘hands the baton’ to Nate Grasz, who will be NFA’s new Executive Director starting this coming year.
Nate is a man uniquely gifted by God with manifold skills and abilities to lead in each of our core areas and will undoubtedly build upon the foundation laid by Karen. We are excited to see where the Lord takes NFA in the years to come under Nate’s leadership as we continue working to advance family, freedom, and life in Nebraska.”
