The NFA Daily Spotlight: A Safe and Secure Nebraska Election

Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Evnen joins the Daily Spotlight this week to discuss steps his administration has taken to ensure the upcoming general election is safe and secure. Voters can vote early by mail or at their election commissioner’s office. To receive an absentee ballot, voters must submit a written request, and every registered voter in Nebraska received an early ballot request form in the mail. Mail-in ballots should be returned by 8 PM CT (7 PM MT) on Election Day in order to be counted, and voters can track their mail-in ballot online to ensure it’s delivered. Absentee ballots can be returned in mailboxes, postal service collection boxes, or secured drop boxes at county election offices.

Due to the COVID-19 virus, poll workers are needed to staff election precincts. On Election Day, every poll worker and polling site will be well-equipped with face masks, hand sanitizer, and disinfectants.
