The NFA Daily Spotlight: A Win For Religious Freedom And School Choice
Lauren Garcia of the American Federation for Children joined the NFA Daily Spotlight to talk about a recent Supreme Court decision that affirmed religious liberty and parental rights. Carson v. Makin found that excluding religious schools from tuition programs was a violation of the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. The government can’t discriminate against schools because of their religious affiliation, and parents have the right to choose a school for their children that aligns with their family’s values. Every child should have the opportunity to attend a school best suited to their individual and educational needs. Nebraska is one of just two states without any form of school choice, and you can help expand educational freedom in our state by letting your legislator know how school choice benefits students.
