The NFA Daily Spotlight: Advancing, Teaching, Strengthening, and Defending Christian Beliefs

Ratio Christi is transforming school campuses by training and empowering Christian students to share their faith in Jesus Christ with their peers, professors, and staff. Benjamin Blowers, the Director of Lincoln College Prep, joined the Nebraska Family Alliance Daily Spotlight to share how the organization is shifting culture, challenging other worldviews, winning hearts and minds, and making disciples through Biblical apologetics training and outreach. Ratio Christi—Latin for “the reason for Christ—is a recognized student organization at The University of Nebraska Lincoln.

Ratio Christi at UNL recently filed a lawsuit against the University, Board of Regents, and administration for discriminating against their faith-based group and failing to distribute student funds in a fair, viewpoint-neutral manner. This spring, the University denied Ratio Christi’s funding request to hold a guest lecture titled “God & Evil: Is Belief in God Rational?” with Dr. Robert Audi, an expert Christian philosopher from the University of Notre Dame and former UNL professor. Despite hosting and funding multiple religious and political events last year, the University told Ratio Christi that it could not promote “speakers of a political and ideological nature,” and in order to receive any funding, Ratio Christi would have to “provide another spokesperson with a different ideological perspective” to counterbalance the Christian perspective.

Please pray the courts will affirm students’ rights to freely speak and exercise their faith and hold the University accountable for blatantly discriminating against Christian students.
