The NFA Daily Spotlight: Breaking Cycles And Strengthening Families

Congressman Don Bacon recently recognized Teela Mickles, founder and CEO of Compassion In Action, as a Black History Month Legacy Leader. Teela joins the Daily Spotlight this week to share how her local organization is serving individuals confined in prisons and the families affected by incarceration. After becoming a single parent to five young children, Teela felt God’s calling to establish the ministry and empower men to fulfill their God-given roles as the head of the household. When men understand their value in the family structure as a provider and protector, children have a positive role model in the home. Compassion In Action is a faith-based nonprofit in Omaha, working to embrace people, rebuild families, and break cycles in the community.
