The NFA Daily Spotlight: Here’s Your Breakdown Of What Happened During Oral Arguments In Dobbs v. Jackson

The U.S. Supreme Court recently heard oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The outcome of this case has the potential to save countless lives and green light new pro-life laws across the nation. Don Stenberg—a Harvard Law School graduate, constitutional law expert, and former Nebraska Attorney General—joined the NFA Daily Spotlight to share his thoughts and legal analysis of the case.

The Supreme Court has several ways it could rule on the question of whether pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are constitutional. The Court could side with the lower courts, completely overturn Roe v. Wade, or choose to uphold Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban, allowing states to prohibit abortions prior to fetal viability. During oral arguments, five of the nine justices made statements or asked questions that suggest they would support overruling Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey.

Regardless of the decision that comes out of the Supreme Court this summer, we know that every human life has intrinsic value and begins at conception. We will continue our work to stand for the vulnerable and protect life in Nebraska and across the country. Follow us on social media and stay tuned for more updates about this pivotal case!
