The NFA Daily Spotlight: Merry Christmas From The Nebraska Family Alliance Team

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is translated, God with us.” Matthew 1:23

Emmanuel means God with us. He is with us in sorrow and grief, but also in times of joy. For many, this Christmas will look different than Christmases past. There may be a seat missing at your dinner table, one less stocking on the mantle. Or perhaps an addition to your family—a new spouse or baby—means there are more presents than usual under your tree. Whether you’re honoring old traditions or making new ones this year, God is with us.

Whatever your circumstance this holiday season, remember that on the first Christmas, God became flesh and made his dwelling among us. The baby born in Bethlehem is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Emmanuel is the reason we celebrate and have hope for the future. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Nebraska Family Alliance Team. May you and your family encounter God’s presence like never before this Christmas and coming year.
