The NFA Daily Spotlight: The Week In History That Changed Everything

Jesus paid it all—the ultimate price for our sins. He was innocent, yet he gave up his life. In Biblical times, crucifixion was one of the most brutal, degrading, and humiliating ways to be put to death. The sinless Son of God was crucified between two criminals. The curse we deserved was placed on God’s only Son, and our sins were atoned. On Good Friday, Christ was crucified, died, and buried in a tomb. But he didn’t stay dead. Three days later, God defeated death and the grave. Because of the resurrection, we have hope for tomorrow and the future. The tremendous sacrifice at the cross gives us peace with God and eternal life.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” Romans 5:8-10
