The NFA Daily Spotlight: Where Faith Meets Sports

This week on the NFA Daily Spotlight, semi-retired sportswriter John Strege shares his experience as a Christian in sports media. He shares how sports can be a tool in sharing the gospel, his personal experiences with Christian professional athletes, and how he shared his faith despite the media’s anti-Christian bias. His latest book is “In the Big Inning: Where Faith Meets Sports: A Christian Sportswriter’s Perspective.”

John Strege worked for the Los Angeles Times, the Orange County Register, and Golf Digest. He is a lifetime member of the Baseball Writers Association of America and an active member of the Golf Writers Association of America. He has authored eight books, two of them New York Times bestsellers (“Tiger: A Biography of Tiger Woods” and “18 Holes with Bing: Golf, Life, and Lessons From Dad,” co-authored with Nathaniel Crosby). John and his family live in Monument, CO.
