The 2026 Legislative Session is in full swing, and committee hearings and floor debates are already underway. This year, we have a real opportunity to bring meaningful change with legislation to protect girls’ locker rooms and bathrooms, keep kids safe online, and advance a culture of life in Nebraska.
Our team reviewed all 547 bills and 12 constitutional amendments introduced in the first ten days of session, and we’ve identified key proposals that will have big impacts on life, parental rights, religious freedom, children’s safety, education, and more.
Introducing NFA’s 2026 Bill Tracker
Our 2026 Bill Tracker is now available to equip you and your family on the issues that matter with:
-
- A categorized list of the bills NFA supports and opposes
- Concise summaries of each bill and what it would do
- Links to read each bill and track its progress
- Status updates on key legislation
- Information on how to contact your state senator and take action
Engaging in the legislative process is an opportunity to honor God and love our neighbors. Our team is here to answer your questions, represent you at the Nebraska Capitol, and issue action alerts when it’s time to make your voice heard.
Legislative Update
Your prayers, advocacy, and action are making a difference. Together, we can make Nebraska a place where God is honored, marriages and families thrive, life is cherished, parental rights are protected, and religious liberty flourishes.
-
- NFA provided testimony in support of three bills addressing gender dysphoria: LB 730, to protect sex-specific spaces in schools and public facilities; LB 731, the Gender Transition Malpractice Accountability Act; and LB 732, to prohibit gender transition drugs for children. We will keep you updated as these bills advance through the Legislature.
- NFA testified in opposition to LB 1161, to remove parental consent requirements for minors considering an abortion procedure, and is preparing testimony for bills to protect children from online exploitation, like LB 978.
- The Nebraska Legislature failed to advance LB 669 after pro-choice senators filibustered the bill and blocked common-sense protections for women facing trafficking and forced abortions. We will continue working to pursue alternative paths to protect life and advance other pro-life bills.
