Nebraska Family Alliance (NFA) has joined other family organizations across America and submitted a letter to Congressional Leaders, including the Honorable Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan. The combined organizations are asking America’s legislative leaders to strongly support the inclusion of new provisions that promote values issues in upcoming appropriations bills.

Our organizations represent millions of Americans, who desire conscience protection for individuals, employers, schools, and businesses, allowing them to live and work according to their moral and religious beliefs. These provisions underline the basic American value of the free exercise of religion, a protected right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

We are asking Congressional Leaders to include riders on all appropriation bills that:

  • Ensure funds are not expended to implement the expansion of Title IX’s non-discrimination to include sex to be defined anything other than biological sex
  • Codify the Hyde-Weldon language that ensures the government does not discriminate against health care entities that refuse to provide, cover, or refer for abortions, and provides them legal recourse
  • Provide religious freedom protections for organizations that contract with the federal government and to
  • Repeal the D.C. Council’s Death by Dignity Act, which legalized assisted suicide in D.C.

As the state affiliate of Family Policy Alliance, Nebraska Family Alliance is honored to be your voice at both the Nebraska and U.S. Capitol. Join me in praying for our leaders to have the courage to say no to any funding that doesn’t include protecting our First Amendment freedoms.
